The term "kennel" is used loosely as our dogs are also our pets and live in the home with us. We have been involved in Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers since 1999. Our goal is to produce dogs with correct temperaments, good health, a strong desire to work, and sound structure. We participate in several competitive venues with our dogs including hunt tests, obedience and conformation.

Puppies available on occasion to select homes. Please contact us for information about our planned litters and photos. All our stock is hip, eye, and heart cleared. Our puppies are sold on non-breeding contracts and are guarenteed. Our foundation male, (Breton) has been Top Toller in Canada every year he has shown as an adult. He has broken several records in the show ring for group 1st, and all breed BEST IN SHOWS, with 6 to his title so far. Breton also has an obedience title and a working title. He has been hunting since he was 6 months old and enjoys every minute of it. The litters he has sired have all produced Canadian Champions, the most recent win was the youngest Toller to win an All Breed Best In Show at 12 months old, Beinnbhreagh's Aces Are Better. Our breeding program focus is on temperament, health, and structure. Our main goal in breeding is to produce sound, confident puppies which will make so many people happy. Tollers are very versitile and can do many things, from hunting, obedience, conformation, agility, flyball, tracking, etc, but the first thing that is most important is they are our pets. Member of the following Toller Clubs: National Toller Clubs of Canada, the United States, Finland and the UK and also have a reciprocal arrangement with the Swedish Toller Club and now the new Danish Toller Club. Description of Kennel and Services: The Toller is now truly international and I believe we should all encourage this aspect of the breed, while always being aware of the dog's Canadian roots. Now one of the longest existing Toller kennels, we got our first Toller in 1975, and bred our first litter in 1976. Litter No. 52 is planned for this spring. All breeding stock has been cleared for hips and eyes since 1978, we now also do annual thyroid checks and are about to add heart checks to this list. We lead statistics for number of champions and obedience titleholders bred, we have now been surpassed in the field title category.

Member of the following Toller Clubs: Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Club of Canada Description of Kennel and Services: Breeders of the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever since 1969. Deanna Jeffery and Doug Coldwell were pioneers in the conformation and obedience ring from 1970 onward. The "Jeffery-Coldwell-Littleriver" kennels produced top conformation tollers in Canada in 1970 and 1972, with many seconds and thirds throughout the seventies. The original breedline is still extant and stronger than ever. After sixteen years away from the showring, Doug Coldwell has produced five champions since 1995. "It is ten times harder to produce a champion today than it was when I first started in the early seventies, yet today we are producing them twice as fast. I believe this indicates a great improvement in our breedline over the intervening years."

Our goal is to preserve their natural instincts with emphasis on producing healthy, versatile tollers. We socialize and temperament-test our puppies. We also provide health clearances and personal support to new puppy owners. Our puppies have gone to hunters,obedience and agility trainers, field trainers, and pet homes. We use our experience to match the puppy to its new owner with the same care as we put into the breeding selection.
